Equine Legal Experience

Mike Beethe, the founder and owner of Beethe Law, combines a critical set of skills that prepares him to represent clients in Equine Law matters.  That combination of real-world horse experience and decades of representation of clients in legal matters, makes him uniquely qualified to represent individuals and businesses in Equine Law matters.

Mike grew up in a family horse business, involved in breeding, raising, showing and marketing horses.  After earning several National Championships as youth exhibitor, Mike transitioned into the amateur ranks.  For many years, Mike managed and trained a string of family-owned horses.  Since that time, Mike has continued to compete in the Amateur division, earning National Championships in 10 different disciplines in the Arabian division.  As a result of those successes in the show ring and contributions to the industry, Mike has been awarded the Amateur of the Year three times by the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horseman’s Association, resulting in him being inducted to the APAHA Hall of Fame.

Mike is also a National/Regional certified Arabian judge, the highest level of certification.  Mike has judged numerous Class A, Regional and National shows throughout the United States and Canada.

On the legal side, Mike began his career litigating business, professional and banking cases.  In the mid-2000s, Mike transitioned to a practice of real estate and business transactions, representing individuals, small businesses and medium-sized businesses in various transactions.  When the 2008 financial crisis hit, Mike was prepared to represent his real estate and business clients in various different litigation matters, combining his litigation and transactional background.

Throughout his years of practice, Mike has consistently practiced Equine Law, representing a variety of clients in nearly every matter imaginable.  From litigation disputes to contract drafting to administrative hearings, Mike has experience in nearly every aspect of Equine Law.
